Advanced Certificate in Professional Counseling

(24 hours – excluding prerequisites)

Prerequisite Requirements      

To be eligible for admission to this program, applicants must be currently pursuing or already hold, a Master of Education in School Counseling, or a Master of Arts in Professional Counseling or a comparable degree from another accredited university. Students may complete one or both tracks to earn a Certificate of Completion.

LICENSED PROFESSIONAL COUNSELOR TRACK

The Licensed Professional Counselor track provides students the additional coursework required in order to apply for licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas, which the student may not have already completed in their master’s degree in counseling:

An individualized plan will be prepared for applicants with master's degrees from universities other than DBU.

MARRIAGE AND FAMILY TRACK

The Marriage and Family track provides students additional coursework as preparation for Marriage and Family Counseling licensure in the state of Texas.
